How can DHA assist your development using GIS?

Environmental Impact Statements

  • DHA can create sensitive receptor plans visualising local environmental designations such as Sites of Special Scientific Interest, European sites, heritage assets and many more.
  • Cumulative site assessments.
  • Showing boundaries of agricultural land grades and values.

Planning Reports and Local Plan Promotion

We have a free interactive map illustrating the Green Belt and AONB in England.

  • We can create strategic maps to show development constraints such as Green Belt, Flood Risk, Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, similar to our free interactive map tool above.
  • Display land ownership boundaries.
  • Using LIDAR to show site elevations and topography.
  • Calculating data within a defined extent using census data.
  • Presentation of land promotion, site allocations and strategic data to support Local Plan consultation responses.
  • Creating custom maps and graphics for use in reports.

Transport Assessments

  • Walk/cycle/drive time analysis to demonstrate exact travel times from sites.
  • Transport isochrones that demonstrate services surrounding the site.
  • Plotting/visualising post code data to demonstrate location (e.g. plotting the location of employees, members etc.)
  • Showing key transport links and visualising proposed new links.
  • Highlighting PROW and cycle routes around a site to show sustainability.
  • Creating heat maps to show the density of data in an area.

DHA have recently provided GIS services for a local authority to identify sites capable of delivering Water Neutrality solutions, BNG opportunities, sites with immediate potential to deliver affordable housing and strategic sites that could deliver longer term projects on behalf of ABC.

Using our GIS skills we are able to  identify potential grey belt sites within set ranges comparing SHELAA and brownfield register datasets for certain authorities.

Please contact us on 01622 776226 should you wish to discuss any of the above or alternatively, a more bespoke GIS project to suit your individual requirements.
