DHA’s newest office, in London Bridge, has been going from strength to strength since its official launch in May 2023. DHA’s London team has been working on a range of projects across the capital and beyond through 2023 and is excited about the prospects for 2024.

The London Team is led by Patrick Reedman, Director who has worked at DHA since 2018 and who has a background in London planning consultancy. Patrick is supported by four senior level planning and transport consultants.

Reflecting back on progress through 2023, Patrick remarked:

The past 12 months have been incredibly exciting for DHA London. The new London office has been a springboard to building on all of DHA’s previous successes in the Capital. What it has shown me is that DHA can really cut it with the established consultancies in Town, offering a fresh approach to planning which is commercially focused. I am very privileged to work day-to-day with an outstanding team of professionals who all have a great depth of understanding of planning in the Capital and beyond. I have no doubt that we will continue to build on this success in 2024 and that we will really be able to build on our reputation as a reliable and trusted practice.”

The team recently expanded its complement of consultants with the re-hiring of Jack Karagoz from another Central London based consultancy. Jack had started his planning career as a graduate at DHA having completed his training as part of our inhouse university before moving to London.

The team has been working on a range of exciting projects through 2023 and into 2024, both in London and up into the Midlands and beyond. These have included the most significant scale developments, many of which are referable to the Mayor.

Holly Benwell, Senior Transport Planner who originally joined DHA back in 2018 commented:

“The last 12 months in our London office has been both exciting and rewarding, having re-joined DHA last year at the start of our journey in the Metal Box Factory. Not only have we been able to grow new client relationships and expand our reach geographically, we have also been able to build on existing relationships, sharing our advice and knowledge across the Capital. Over the last year, the Transport team have worked on various projects across the London Boroughs, and I look forward to continuing this in 2024 and beyond.”

Through 2024, Team London will be working on a range of proposals of scale, including tall buildings, major student housing proposals, city centre regeneration, and previously developed sites (including schools and infrastructure sites) which are ripe for intensification.

Dan Blake, Senior Planner in the London Team reflects on some of the exciting work undertaken since the establishment of DHA London:

“Having a permanent base in Central London has been hugely positive in terms of growing DHA’s presence and business. Just being in the Capital makes it so much easier to interact with clients and co-consultants face-to-face and this makes building relationships so much easier. I have been particularly proud of our work in Greater London over this year on high-end residential projects, such as securing consent for residential development in the City of Westminster on a number of sites, as well as some of our work away from the city centre, such as recently securing the conversion of commercial buildings to residential use in Lambeth, Merton, Havering and elsewhere.”

In addition to the work that the team is doing in Greater London, its presence in the capital has also helped the business expand outside of its ‘traditional’ territory in the South-East. Jack Harley, Senior Planner at Team London notes:

“Having a base in London definitely has resulted in a greater geographical reach for DHA. For example, I am currently working on city centre projects for several hundreds of new residential units in the East Midlands which will bring about huge positive change in terms of regeneration.”
