Charity Football Match at The Valley

The Reds took on The Blues on a sunny Thursday afternoon with 38 players taking to the pitch, which meant everyone could enjoy an 11 aside football match whilst having time to catch their breadth with a healthy amount of substitutes. It was fantastic to see colleagues and clients alike putting aside their usual corporate roles, running, tackling and in some cases colliding and DHA’s Lucy Wilford and Rosie Dennis flew the flag for the women footballers.

 

The Reds finished the match winning a very respectable 5:3 with Captain Jack Harley receiving the cup with pride. The afternoon finished with refreshments in the bar and a superb raffle which included signed footballers from Arsenal and Man United.

 

A special mention goes to Alex Bones and Jack Harley for organising a fantastic event which was enjoyed by clients, players and spectators where we managed to raise over £2,500 for Smile Train UK.  

 

Cleft Care is a subject close to our hearts as one of our DHA babies was born with a cleft in 2021. Her and the family are lucky enough to be receiving world-class treatment through the NHS, but other babies, children and adults are not so lucky around the rest of the world. That's why we are raising money for this amazing charity, in the aim that nobody with a cleft lip or palate should go without proper treatment.

 

Smile Train empowers medical professionals around the world with training, funding, and resources to provide free surgery and other forms of comprehensive cleft care to children and families in their communities. Smile Train’s sustainable solution and scalable global health model drastically improve children’s lives, including their ability to eat, breathe, speak, and ultimately thrive. Supporting Smile Train gives a child access to a full range of cleft services they would have otherwise never received and ultimately the opportunity for a better quality of life.
