
DHA secured Reserved Matters approval for a new hospice building, designed by KKE Architects Ltd., at Greensand Place, Linton, on behalf of Heart of Kent Hospice.

This approval follows the granting of outline planning permission in March 2025 for a wider development that includes a new hospice, care home, assisted living accommodation for autistic adults, and affordable retirement bungalows.
Delivery of the necessary infrastructure is already well underway, with the landowners Alan Firmin Ltd funding the access road and drainage work to serve all parts of the development.
DHA has been delighted to work on a project that will deliver such significant community benefits for Maidstone.

Chris is a Director at DHA running one of our residential teams, he is particularly passionate about creating new communities and ensuring developments meet the needs of the local demographic.
Before establishing David Hicken Associates in 1986, David gained ten years of experience in Local Government, holding roles with a District Council, a Metropolitan Borough Council, Maidstone Borough Council, and ultimately serving as Chief Planning Officer at Harlow District Council in Essex.
Laura joined DHA in 2004 as part of our original Graduate intake. She holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) Degree in Geography and Sports Science from Loughborough University, and an MA in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Westminster. She is also a member of the RTPI.
