Geographical Information System (GIS)

Geographical Information System or (GIS) are playing a greater role in the planning process, whether its from local plans, a helicopter view of local constraints  to site finding. At DHA our GIS Team  can provide a variety of maps to help visualise data, identify patterns and aid decision making.

 

Our GIS services are used in our professional reports across our Planning, Transport and Environmental teams for analysis and presentation purposes.

 

The GIS Team, headed up by Matthew Marsh & Carleigh Westwell, provides a wide range of services with some recent projects including:

 

• Strategic Sites Analysis– Creating templates for maps when starting a strategic project, which can include constraints such environmental designations, local policies and physical constraints including electricity poles.

 

• Major Transport Schemes – Mapping the major transport projects together with key information to get a bigger picture of how these schemes relate to each other.

 

• Public Transport and Cycling Audits – Auditing of public transport and cycling route to investigate connectivity and sustainability the deprived area ratings and the inactivity percentages within proximity.

 

• Political Maps – preparing policitcal make up maps on either, Parish, Ward, Borough or Parliamentary level.
