DHA's GIS Team is headed up by Matthew Marsh and Carleigh Westwell, and it provides a wide range of services to help visualise data, identify patterns and aid decision making. Please see below for our latest GIS practice update.

Social Infrastructure Audit

This was the GIS Team's first Social Infrastructure Audit containing many GIS plans as well as supporting text to assess the local service provision and needs. A range of our clients are now asking for these types of documents to be prepared, so please let us know if this would be of interest to you.

Construction Route Plan

The GIS Team prepared this Construction Route Plan to demonstrate to the Council how construction vehicles will access the site.   Such plans can be prepared to support either  Construction Management Plans, Planning Statements or Transport Assessments.

Local Plan Policy Designations

This map was created to show the various Local Plan policies, designations and constraints around different land parcels. This particular map was prepared in support of a potential BNG strategy.

Districts Worked on in 2024

This map was prepared for an internal presentation to show all the districts that DHA have worked with since November 2023. We can create geographical mapping for any topic.

Facilities Map

The GIS Team prepared this map to demonstrate the facilities within proximity of a development site for use in a Design and Access Statement to help present site sustainability.

If you would like to find out anymore about DHA GIS's services, please feel free to contact Matthew Marsh or Carleigh Westwell.

Vacant Building Credits - What is it and how can it be used?

The Vacant Building Credit (VBC) came into force through the publication of planning guidance on 28 November 2014. Since then, it is becoming more widely recognised as a useful mechanism for boosting the viability of brownfield sites. In this article, DHA's Viability Lead, Danielle Lawrence looks at what Vacant Building Credit (VBC) is and how it can be used to make substantial savings.
