On Thursday 5th June, a team from DHA smashed its ambitious target of running and cycling 1,000 miles in 24 hours, raising more than £6,000 for three charities. Find out more below.

At DHA, we’re committed to giving back to the communities we serve. As part of our social responsibility efforts for 2025, we are proud to support three exceptional charities that are close to the hearts of our team:
Providing compassionate end-of-life care for patients with terminal illnesses, the Heart of Kent Hospice supports individuals and families across Maidstone, Aylesford, Tonbridge, and Malling—offering care in the hospice, at home, and in the local community.
Ripple Suicide Prevention Charity
R;pple is working to make the internet a safer place, offering real-time support for those searching for harmful online content related to suicide and self-harm. Their work breaks stigma and promotes mental health awareness across digital spaces.
The Brain Tumour Charity is the world’s leading organisation dedicated to brain tumour research and support. They are at the forefront of the fight to improve survival rates and ultimately find a cure.
Our 24-Hour Challenge
To raise awareness and much-needed funds, 44 members of the DHA team took on an ambitious 24-hour run-and-cycle challenge, starting at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday 5th June at our Maidstone head office.
With three exercise bikes and two treadmills running non-stop for 24 hours, the goal was to cover 1,000 miles. However by the end of the 24 hours we achieved the following.....
1. Final distance achieved: 1,888 miles (!!)
2. Average per person: 42.8 miles
3. Average speed: 78.5 miles per hour
That’s equivalent to nearly 16 full circuits of the 120-mile route between our Kent, London, and Gatwick offices — all in just 24 hours!
Doubling Our Impact
Our original fundraising goal was £3,000 — and thanks to the dedication of our team and the generosity of our supporters, we’ve raised nearly £6,500 to date.
