The team at DHA has helped secure detailed planning permission for phase 2 of a large new estate on the outskirts of Maidstone, as well as approval for the infrastructure to serve the site.
Rosewood in Langley, which is being developed by Countryside Partnerships, is part of a wider scheme that was granted outline permission in 2018 for up to 800 homes. With phase 1 – some 173 units plus public open space – almost complete, work will soon begin on a further 109 dwellings.
This new part of the development is solely residential, consisting of a mixture of detached, semi-detached and terraced houses alongside a block of apartments that range between one to three storeys in height. The scheme includes a 30 percent affordable housing provision.
Located just 3.7 miles south-east of Maidstone town centre, the site is accessed off the A274 Sutton Road. When developed, Rosewood will form the gateway to Maidstone from the east so it has been designed to handle this rural to urban interface sensitively.
