On behalf of Taylor Wimpey Plc, DHA secured approval for what will be the first phase of a major residential development at East Hill in the Capstone Valley, Chatham.
Phase 1, called Capstone Oaks, will deliver 91 houses, including 25% affordable homes, as well as substantial areas of open space and equipped play areas. Set in a sensitive landscape, it will achieve a 20% Biodiversity Net Gain.
When complete the development could contribute 800 new homes towards Medway’s housing target alongside delivering new community infrastructure.
DHA’s team, who worked closely with Taylor Wimpey’s appointed architect Pegasus Group and landscape architects Allen Pyke, provided planning advice throughout the process. The planning work required careful handling due to local opposition and involved detailed engagement with the local members.
