Ridgewood Place
Forming a logical and well designed extension to the emerging development at Ridgewood Place on the edge of Uckfield was part of a compelling planning argument put forward by DHA for its client Taylor Wimpey PLC (South East).

Working closely with officers at Wealden District Council, DHA secured permission for 100 new homes on land adjacent to Seghers Place, accessed from the A22 Uckfi eld Bypass. The permission secured 35% of the 100 homes as affordable, alongside other infrastructure improvements secured through Section 106 contributions and the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL).
The site is a proposed allocation in the council’s emerging Regulation 18 Local Plan, and in the context of the lack of local housing land supply, planning permission was granted.
The proposals include public open space, landscaping and associated infrastructure, and members recognised it as a suitable and sustainable location for development. Thanks to its well-designed layout it incorporates significant landscaping and buffers, including protection of adjacent ancient woodland.
Another great DHA example of collaborative working with officers and consultees to unlock much needed housing delivery.
