DHA secured consent for phases 2, 3 and 4 at Wises Lane, Borden.
Phase 2
On behalf of Barratt, David Wilson, DHA secured Reserved Matters consent for 209 homes at Wises Lane, Borden, Sittingbourne.
The decision means the second phase of development within the wider strategic site that benefits from hybrid planning approval for 675 homes can now proceed.
The scheme will deliver a mix of new homes, including affordable housing, as well as new public open space, play areas and landscaping.
Phases 3 & 4
In 2025 DHA secure consent for Phases 3 & 4 of the development, which will deliver 160 new homes. The proposals build on the design principles established at the Outline stage and continue the approach already approved for Phases 1 & 2, creating a cohesive and well-integrated new community.
The development will provide a mix of 2, 3, 4 and 5-bedroom homes, including 19 affordable homes (12%), helping to meet local housing needs.
The scheme prioritises walking and cycling, with clear, safe and well-defined routes connecting homes with public open spaces and future facilities across the wider site.
The landscape strategy will strengthen the site's relationship with its surroundings, with new planting providing additional screening, habitat and biodiversity benefits. Fruiting species will also provide valuable foraging opportunities for wildlife associated with nearby Borden Nature Reserve.
New green spaces will provide opportunities to play, relax and connect with nature, including landscape buffers, a central green amenity space, a new linear park, children's play space, and retained and enhanced trees and hedgerows.
