dha secure listed building consent for Oast conversion and extension

dha planning have secured detailed planning and listed building consent for the conversion of a curtilage oast house and barn at Birchley House Farm Biddenden and extension to the existing cottage. The approved scheme provides for the conversion of the oast house, stowage and barn to additional residential accommodation as an extension to the adjoining cottage. The approved scheme also includes extension and alterations to the existing cottage. The oast house, stowage and barn are Grade II curtilage listed.

dha urban design prepared detailed plans for the conversion of the buildings and the extension to the cottage. A Planning Statement and Design and Access Statement, including a Heritage Assessment, were submitted in support of the applications.

In addition to the above documents an Ecology Survey, Contamination Assessment, and Building Condition Survey were prepared in support of the application.

Following discussions and negotiations with the Planning Authority a number of minor amendments were made to the scheme to address the specific design matters raised.

Planning and listed building consent were secured under delegated powers.
