New Chair of Developers East Sussex announced
Developers East Sussex, the organisation seeking to make a difference by helping to deliver high quality commercial and residential development across the county as well as infrastructure, has a new Chair following the appointment of Jonathan Buckwell.
Director of DHA, the planning, transport and environmental consultancy with offices in Crawley and Maidstone, Jonathan’s first meeting as Chair was held at the Welcome Building, Devonshire Park in Eastbourne.
During the meeting, Jonathan expressed how important it was for developers to liaise with the local community and the districts in order to provide sustainable development, through the planning process.
Welcoming the appointment, Nick Fenton, a supporter of Developers East Sussex, said: “Since opening its Crawley office in March 2018, DHA has quickly gained a reputation for strong planning advice and represented local authorities and property developers behind important local schemes across East Sussex.
“Jonathan’s planning experience and development knowledge make him the perfect choice as an independent chair of the organisation.”
Jonathan Buckwell added: “East Sussex shares many of the challenges and opportunities faced by other parts of the South East, notably creating the new homes and community services for the growing population and places for them to work.
“It is vital that we bring local authorities and the development community together to help foster a better understanding of everybody’s role and to support the local economy.”
He takes over the role of Chair from Derek Godfrey of Ellis Building Contractors.
