DHA's Roundtable Forum on Affordable Housing
Major players from Kent’s RPs, house builders, developers, local authorities and planners were brought together as part of DHA’s ongoing programme of development roundtables.
Top of the agenda at the breakfast event held at DHA’s Maidstone offices, chaired by Brian Horton of Horton Strategic, was how to accelerate the delivery of affordable new homes with delegates focused on how best to increase the current 16% of new homes delivered in Kent during 2017/18 being affordable, to the national average of 21%.
Matthew Woodhead, Director at DHA said “It was a really useful session with contributions from a wide variety of people who input into housing delivery in very different ways. Key issues including grant funding, planning, Section 106 wording and small site take-up were identified and potential solutions are now to be followed up on.”
