Community benefit secures increased allocation
After demonstrating significant additional benefits to the local community, DHA successfully secured planning permission for 85 new homes in Maidstone.
The site, a former chicken farm on the edge of the village of Boughton Monchelsea has become surplus to the requirements for longstanding clients, Fridays Ltd, and is allocated within the adopted Maidstone Local Plan for the provision of 25 homes.
Crest Nicholson (Eastern) worked extensively with the Parish Council and key local stakeholders, and can now bring forward 85 homes, including 34 affordable homes on a local lettings plan, significant areas of open space, a community woodland and an area of land gifted to the local charity - Boughton Monchelsea Amenity Trust.
The high quality of the scheme’s design by Omega Architects won praise from Councillors, resulting in a unanimous vote of approval.
