Kent Association of Local Councils Conference
On Thursday 13th September DHA, and its sister company Socium, presented at the conference for the Kent Association of Local Councils.
Taking one of the first slots of the day, DHA explain the roles and responsibilities for highways and transport in Kent, they outlined how highway improvements can be requested and provide details of a number of highway solutions to mitigate both safety and amenity concerns.
As part of the presentation DHA and Socium outlined previous cost-effective studies which they have completed to investigate the feasibility of highway improvement schemes. The projects ranged in scale and detail from amendments to signing and lining to proposals for the re-classification of roads and whole new traffic calming schemes.
The presentation concluded with a questions and answers section where a number of local councils highlighted highway issues, which could potentially warrant further investigation. It was clear that although the local highway authority can only priorities improvements in areas which are considered to be ‘hot spots’, town and parish councils are aware of concerns within their own patch.
DHA and Socium are well experienced working with local councils and would be happy to engage with any that have concerns over highways and transportation matters.
