Middle Deal Access Local Growth Fund Bid
Working on behalf of Quinn Estates, dha transport has prepared a successful bid to the Government's Local Growth Fund for a contribution of £800,000 towards the Middle Deal Link Road scheme.
Working on behalf of Quinn Estates, DHA Transport has prepared a successful bid to the Government's Local Growth Fund for a contribution of £800,000 towards the Middle Deal Link Road scheme. The Link Road will unlock a major mixed-use development, which will deliver much needed new homes, office space, retail and community facilities in the town.
The bid involved the submission of a business case to the South East Local Enterprise Partnership (SELEP), incorporating a Green Book compliant economic appraisal and additionality assessment to define and monetise the economic benefits of the scheme.
DHA was able to demonstrate that the project offers high value for money through the value of the on-site jobs created. On this basis SELEP's Independent Technical Evaluator was able to make a positive recommendation to its Accountability Board to release the capital funding for the Link Road to Quinn Estates. The Board accepted this recommendation and approved the release of funding on 12th February 2016. It is anticipated work will commence on the scheme later this year.
With the Government committing significantly increased capital funding to transport infrastructure projects during the life of this Parliament, it is widely anticipated that further bidding rounds for the Local Growth Fund will be forthcoming.
