Call for Sites - Tunbridge Wells
Tunbridge Wells seeks Housing & Employment Land
A report commissioned by Tunbridge Wells Borough Council in summer 2015 revealed that the Council needs to significantly increase the amount of housing planned for within its administrative area. The Strategic Housing Market Assessment (SHMA) identified a need for at least 12,960 houses (648 per year) in Tunbridge Wells between 2013-2033. The emerging requirement is more than double its current target of 300 homes per year.
In light of this housing need, Tunbridge Wells are now inviting submissions to identify sites and broad locations from housing and employment land within the Borough as part of a Call for Sites exercise. The sites will then be assessed for their suitability for development under a process known as Strategic Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment (SHELAA). The deadline for submissions is 1st August 2016.
