DHA enabling a construction revolution
A 42,000m² advanced manufacturing building has been secured by DHA.
A 42,000m² advanced manufacturing building has been secured by DHA at Laing O’Rourke’s offsite manufacturing hub near Worksop, Nottinghamshire. The new facility will contribute to Laing O’Rourke’s Design for Manufacture and Assembly agenda which revolutionises the way it delivers construction projects, with many of the components being manufactured in factories and delivered to sites for rapid installation.
DHA has been advising Laing O’Rourke on the site since 2006 and this new building will be located adjacent to the company’s £110m pre-cast concrete facility which opened in 2009. The permission was secured by DHA in detail, but as part of an outline planning permission for the whole of the wider Explore Industrial Park. The 98ha site, which crosses into two counties and two districts, was formerly a coal mine, quarry and refractory.
