Education PD Rights
As part of our ongoing programme of educational projects dha have been undertaking a review of Permitted Development Rights for schools and education development.
Schools benefit from their own separate set of Permitted Development Rights much in the same way as householders. The Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order 1990 (as amended) allows for new buildings or the extension or alteration of existing buildings and the provision or replacement of areas of hard standing. Educational Permitted Development Rights have been applied recently in our project work to facilitate the provision of new temporary buildings, extensions and the provision of new and replacement car parking areas and playgrounds. This has been a particularly valuable means of securing low key development to fit often very tight construction programming with the school year.
