Advice from the transport team at DHA has helped award-winning Esquire Developments secure planning permission from Swale Borough Council for 46 new homes in Newington, near Sittingbourne.
The site, which is just off the high street, will offer a mix of affordable and private homes with a variety of dwelling sizes, from one-bed apartments to terraces, semi-detached and detached family homes.
Additionally, the development will deliver 40 percent affordable housing with large areas of the disused 2.66-hectare site given over to community orchard planting.
The design of the buildings, which was undertaken by Clague Architects, reflects features found within the existing Georgian housing stock of Newington, with elements such as window surrounds, front door canopies, window proportions, stone banding and bay windows.
DHA provided transport planning and highway design advice in support of the application, which will deliver muchneeded market and affordable housing built to Esquire’s high design and sustainability standards.
