Meeting the need for greater local elderly care provision saw DHA play its part in securing approval for a 66-bed care home and retail unit in Halling, Medway, on behalf of Aspire LPP.
Having previously secured an approval at the site for a larger extra care facility and retail unit in May 2020, DHA were well placed to bring forward the proposals. They provided planning and transport support.
Situated next to St Andrews Lakes, the scheme was designed to maximise the potential of this feature to the development, with clear views provided from the site. Owing to the prominence of the site a detailed landscaping submission was made with the application, provided by Exterior Architecture.
The project team demonstrated the proposal would deliver much needed elderly care provision and make an important contribution to Medway’s housing needs.
