One and two bedroom apartments will be provided on the former Travis Perkins site which sits on two sites either side of Victoria Crescent .

DHA Planning and DHA Transport provided planning, transport and viability advice for the scheme, securing recommendations for approval by Ashford Borough Council Planning Committee.

Based on acceptance of DHA's viability appraisal, the scheme will not provide affordable housing but will be making contributions to the improvement of nearby Victoria Park.

Two applications were submitted for the redevelopment of the former Travis Perkins site in Ashford to provide 59 apartments across the two sites.

As part of our assessment we were able to argue that the existing floorspace of the former Travis Perkins buildings could be offset against the proposed floorspace of the new buildings through the application of Vacant Building Credit resulting in a reduction in the level of affordable housing required on the site.
In light of the historic use of the site and further information on required remediation and abnormal costs we were successfully able to argue no affordable housing requirements across both of the sites on the basis that a financial contribution would be made to the improvement of nearby Victoria Park.
