Recognising the landscape sensitivity of the site, pre-application consultation was entered into with the Local Planning Authority (LPA). Collaboration with the LPA during the design process resulted in a modern, bespoke design to minimise building height and introduce a green roof, softening long-range visual impact of views of the elevated site within the Park.
The application site was an anomaly as, although it fell within the village boundary, it was a greenfield plot which formed part of a wider paddock. The proposed dwelling replaced an existing dilapidated and disused former agricultural building, incorporating comprehensive landscaping to maintain and preserve biodiversity and provide screening.
