DHA was commissioned by Kier Construction Southern on behalf of the Department for Education to provide the planning and transport advice for the £19m project, which saw its team work closely with architects Lee Evans Partnership, based in Canterbury.

The decision will see a number of buildings dating back to between 1952 and 1970 replaced with a new teaching block and sports hall, multi-use games area and landscaped area for outside learning.

The school will remain open during the construction of the new building. This removes the need for expensive temporary accommodation to be provided and enables teaching to be delivered in the existing school buildings without pupils being displaced until the new building is complete.
