Aspire School

Children in Swale with Special Educational Needs (SEN) are a major step closer to getting their own school after DHA helped secure planning permission on behalf of BAM Construction for the Department for Education.

Aspire School, led by Grove Park Academies Trust, will accommodate up to 168 pupils aged 4-11 years old, in the 3,220m2 single storey building.  

To support the pupils, Aspire School will have a standard class size of eight pupils taught in mixed ability classes. Specialist teaching facilities will accommodate food, music and specialist therapies such as soft play, sensory integration and an immersive room.

As part of the application for the development of the 1.7-hectare greenfield site in Sittingbourne, DHA also provided transport planning advice to secure the support of stakeholders: Highways England and Kent Highways.
