Stables at Springfield

DHA has secured consent to create two new holiday lets and a new purpose-built recording studio.

The proposed new buildings for DHA’s longstanding client, Pickhill Developments, will involve the demolition of two dilapidated timber stables, retaining the existing central brick-built section, and be built on the same footprint as the existing stables at the farm in Marden.  In addition, a new recording studio will be built adjacent to the holiday lets.

Key facts

It will support the rural economy by providing a new home for Broadwood Music Productions, which counts the BBC, Channel 5, Sony, BMG and Boosey & Hawkes among its clients.  The development will provide a unique opportunity for Broadwood Music Productions, offering clients the ability to reside at the premises whilst also utilising the recording studio.

The design was carefully considered to ensure there would be no adverse effect on the countryside or the adjacent Grade II listed buildings, Springhill Farmhouse and Springfield Oast - both of 19th Century origin.
