The Government has published its draft National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) to replace all Planning Policy Statements and Planning Policy Guidance Notes.

The draft NPPF simplifies and condenses National Policy and promotes a presumption in favour of sustainable development.
The document is out to public consultation and will currently be afforded a limited amount of weight. The document does however demonstrate the Government’s strong pro-development agenda and gives a good indication of the shape of future policy.
