DHA has secured planning permission for the change of use of retail units at 1-5 High Street, Sittingbourne to a restaurant/bar.

The site is located within the core retail area as designated by the Local Plan proposals map and the Council had raised concerns regarding the loss of retail floorspace within this location. DHA presented the Council with valid grounds to support the application however and Committee members subsequently resolved to approve the application.
The site has been vacant for the majority of 2010 and hasbeen marketed during this time, but there has been no retailer interest. It is therefore hoped that with planning permission for an alternative use that a buyer will be found for the site. It is also hoped that the planning permission will assist in the regeneration of the eastern part of Sittingbourne High Street and enhance the evening economy in the town.
