DHA Planning has worked with the University of Gloucestershire (formerly the Cheltenham and Gloucester College of Higher Education) since 1990 on redeveloping a number of campus sites within the urban areas of Cheltenham and Gloucester.

In all cases DHA managed the planning process and co-ordinated the multi-disciplinary teams of professionals, including architects (Fielden Clegg Bradley), surveyors, ecologists, highway and landscape consultants etc.

 

Central Campus, Cheltenham

This scheme incorporated a major redevelopment of The Park Campus, which is within a designated Conservation Area and contains a number of important listed buildings. The scheme included new academic facilities, a student’s union, central offices, and student accommodation, sports facilities, learning resource centre, car parking and extensive landscape works. 

 

Pittsville Campus

DHA secured planning permission for an extensive redevelopment scheme for new student accomodation and academic facilities.

 

Hardwicke Campus, Cheltenham

DHA secured planning permission for new and replacement student accomodation.

 

The Folley, Cheltenham

Planning permission for a major new sports pavilion at the University playing fields was secured.

 

Francis Close Hall, St Paul’s Cheltenham

DHA Planning secured planning permission and listed building consent for major new buildings within the collegiate complex on the site of Francis Close Hall, an important Grade II listed building.

 

Ireton and Benton Campus, Cheltenham

DHA secured planning permission and listed building consent for conversion of two University listed buildings into residential apartments and the erection of new dwellings within the grounds within a designated outstanding Conservation Area.

 

Oxstalls Campus, Gloucester

DHA secured planning permission for the development of this major site in Gloucester to provide a new Business School, Sports Science complex, student accommodation and all weather playing pitches.
