Fourayes Farm provides a range of products to national food manufacturers and processing businesses. In order to keep pace with the supply demands from their customers and to preserve the company’s competitive position within the market, the farm had increased their operating hours to allow them to change to a two-shift system of operation. This resulted in Maidstone Borough Council threatening to proceed with enforcement action against the farm.
DHA advised the client on the planning implications of the potential enforcement action and discussed the requirements of the farm with the Council, before preparing and submitting an application to extend the operating hours of the premises.
DHA successfully negotiated with the Council over issues raised in respect of noise and traffic movements, and secured the permission under delegated powers.
