Due to our expanding workload the team is currently recruiting for a Senior Level Flood Risk & Infrastructure Engineer.
Based at our offices in Maidstone, the core role includes producing FRAs for development projects in accordance with the NPPF, including outline drainage and SuDS strategies.
The candidate will provide due diligence flood risk advice to landowners and undertake flood studies in the public sector. As part of the infrastructure team you will also be involved in helping to coordinate the interface between our highway and drainage teams to help plan outline infrastructure strategies for some of the south-easts largest developments.
Ideally degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline or experience based equivalent.
The successful candidate is likely to have a minimum of 10 years’ experience preparing FRAs and drainage strategies for public and private sector clients as well as preparing outline infrastructure plans for major new developments, to include both roads and drainage.
Ability to recognise and communicate infrastructure, flooding, drainage and highway related constraints and opportunities at development sites
Experience producing and reviewing a wide range of FRAs and drainage strategies
Good knowledge and experience of Micro Drainage
Good knowledge of the planning system, in particular flood related policy and guidance such as the NPPF and SuDS Manual
Good knowledge of Section 104 and Section 38/278 highways agreements, Building Regulations and CDM 2015.
Awareness of financial control and project management
Good project management and communication skills in a client facing role
Ability to write clear and concise reports
Ability to supervise and motivate others whilst providing mentoring and training to junior staff
