History

David Hicken Associates, DHA, was set up by David Hicken in 1986 as specialist planning practice. Before establishing the Practice, David had ten years experience in Local Government, including posts with a District Council, a Metropolitan Borough Council, Maidstone Borough Council in Kent and finally as Chief Planning Officer with Harlow District Council in Essex. DHA has organically grown to employ 25 people offering Planning, Urban Design, Transport and Environmental advice.

  • 1986 - David Hicken sets up David Hicken Associates, run from Wellington House, Maidstone
  • 1988 - DHA move to a converted barn in Loose, Maidstone 
  • 2006 - DHA move to a purpose built office at Eclipse Park, Maidstone - http://www.eclipsepark.co.uk/
  • 2008 - DHA Urban Design launched
  • 2009 - DHA Transport launched 
  • 2010 - DHA Environment launched
