Local Authority Asset Management

DHA have been commissioned by a District Authority to undertake a further six phases of a Sites Potential Study. DHA have already completed two phases of the study which covered two urban area zones. The remaining six phases cover the rest of the urban area as well as the rural parts of the borough.
Each study reviews the Authority's full land ownership portfolio within a particular phase area to identify possible development potential or cost savings. It is an initial sieving exercise, designed to then concentrate resources on those sites most likely to generate capital revenue from commercial or housing development, or new affordable homes.
DHA have also been completing detailed feasibility work on behalf of the Council on a number of sites identified during the first two phases of the study. These consist primarily of areas of land within Council housing estates, with capacities ranging from 2 to 8 units. DHA have also been instructed to prepare and submit planning applications on a number of these sites following this initial feasibility work.
